چکیده

The neutrino mixing sum rule θ 12 − θ 13 cos(δ) ≈ θ ν 12 provides a possibility to explore the structure of the neutrino mass matrix in the presence of charged lepton corrections, since it relates the 1-2 mixing angle from the neutrino mass matrix, θ ν 12 , to observable parameters of the PMNS mixing matrix. The neutrino mixing sum rule holds if the charged lepton mixing angles are CKM-like, i.e., small and dominated by a 1-2 mixing, and for small 1-3 mixing in the neutrino mass matrix. These conditions hold in a wide class of well motivated flavour models. We apply this sum rule to present oscillation data, and we investigate the prospects of future neutrino facilities for exploring the sum rule by simulating various setups for long-baseline reactor and accelerator experiments. As explicit examples, we use the sum rule to test the hypotheses of tri-bimaximal and bimaximal neutrino mixing, where θ ν 12 is predicted by sin 2 (θ ν 12) = 1/3 or 1/2, respectively, although the neutrino mixing sum rule can be used to test any prediction for θ ν 12. a

Sum rules of four-neutrino mixing in matter

Assuming the existence of one light sterile neutrino, we investigate the neutrino flavor mixing matrix in matter. Sum rules between the mixing parameters in vacuum and their counterparts in matter are derived. By using these new sum rules, we obtain the simple but exact expressions of the effective flavor mixing matrix in matter in terms of neutrino masses and the mixing parameters in vacuum. T...

Sum Rules of Neutrino Masses and CP Violation in the Four-Neutrino Mixing Scheme

We show that the commutator of lepton mass matrices is invariant under terrestial matter effects in the four-neutrino mixing scheme. A set of modelindependent sum rules for neutrino masses, which may be generalized to hold for an arbitrary number of neutrino families, are for the first time uncovered. Useful sum rules for the rephasing-invariant measures of leptonic CP violation have also been ...

Noncommutativity of Lepton Mass Matrices: Flavor Mixing and CP Violation

Abstract: I follow a lesson learnt from Heisenberg’s matrix Quantum Mechanics to study the property of lepton flavor mixing and CP violation. I show that the commutator of lepton mass matrices defined in vacuum keeps invariant under terrestrial matter effects within the four-neutrino mixing scheme. A set of model-independent sum rules for neutrino masses are obtained, and they can be generalize...

L μ − L τ − L s Symmetry and a Mixed 2 + 2 Scenario for Neutrino Oscillations

Recent results from SuperKamiokande and SNO experiments have set severe constraints on possible mixings of a light sterile neutrino, νs, with the three active species required for a simultaneous explanation of the solar, atmospheric and LSND neutrino oscillation data. A consistent scheme has emerged from a global analysis of the data wherein two of the neutrinos are nearly degenerate with a mas...

Lepton Flavour Mixing Matrix and CP Violation from Neutrino Oscillation Experiments

The measurement of the charged-current B solar neutrino reaction on deuterium at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory confirms the neutrino oscillation hypothesis for the solar neutrino problem, and the result favours the solution with large neutrino mixing angles. We demonstrate that the current neutrino oscillation data (including atmospheric and reactor neutrinos) are sufficient to construct the...
